Subject: M902.0/2.8 and cracked leather

Just turned 27 and I'm guessing that my M5 was born before I. Unfortunately,
the leatherlike skin is cracked in several places. I had one patch repaired,
but would like to have the entire surface redone. Any suggestions on cost vs
value of this repair. My only real concern is protecting the internal
workings of the body--this camera is strictly for use not for show (although
it is something of a shame to see an otherwise wonderful camera disfigured.)
Having read the earlier postings on DAG and Leitz, I guess I would call to
send it to one of the two for an estimate.

Also, I'm looking to purchase a 90 2.0 or 2.8. I am currently using a rental
2.8 tele-elmarit. How much larger is the 2.0? Besides speed (which is
important to me), what other reasons are there to purchase the Summicron?
Should I avoid certain serial numbers of either the 2.0 or the 2.8? Like my
35 Summicron, the 90 would be used for primarily b/w photography. Finally,
is anyone looking to part with one of these lenses (something more than a
user but less than a collection piece)?

Advanced thanks for your collective years of wisdom.
