I also heard the 28mm Rokkor to be an excellent lens and smaller/lighter than
the Elmarit.

The depth of field of the Rokkor at f5.6should be the same as any 28mm at
f5.6. DOF is also a function of distance. At 5.6, if you set the focus at
15.4 ft, anything between 7.7ft to infinity is within the DOF.
