I'm waiting for Photoshop to get an "add full moon to sky" feature to accompany "replace background" and "replace sky". Lightroom refusing to import Message-ID: We hired a professional to photograph my mother's funeral service. We paid him very well, and got ownership rights of the images. He delivered about 100 images. Lightroom refuses to import them. It just sits there. I made a new test catalog, and tried importing one image. Same thing. It hangs. Photoshop will open them. Topaz will open them. Apple Preview will open them. Bridge will open and manipulate them. Apple's "Photos" app will import them. Lightroom refuses to touch them. Is there some kind of a Digital Rights Management flag you can put on an image file that will make it impossible to load into Lightroom? Lightroom Classic 13.0.1 Release. I have searched carefully, in Bridge, for metadata that might express an opinion to Lightroom, but haven't found anything. Does anybody know what might be going on? I contacted the photographer, who said that he had not put anything into the JPG files to block anything. I used an online "remove all metadata" site to remove all of the EXIF data from one of the images, and Lightroom had no problem with it. So there is something in the EXIF that is choking Lightroom. I'm thinking I might contact Adobe support, but my experiences at contacting any company's support department are very negative. Adobe Bridge used to have a built-in script that would remove all metadata from an image, but I don't see it in the current version of Bridge. Still looking. I found that there is an option in the "Custom Export" feature of Adobe Bridge that will remove EXIF data on export. I think this nut is about to crack. Message-ID: Here is one image from the collection that cannot not be imported into my Lightroom. If you are running Lightroom Classic v13 and are feeling public-spirited, might you try to import it into your Lightroom to see what happens? I use Lightroom Classic 13.0.1 on Mac Sonoma 14.1.1. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/l4a7oxwf4o4jxejebva6c/20231105-2048-copy3.jpg?rlkey=goz7dwhceabibks7mdgcgmqzr&dl=0 I've found that unless I remove the EXIF Camera Data, it won't import for me. It was so far in the future that everyone forgot. It is no longer very far in the future. Two photographers have already submitted their pictures. Time to un-forget. Contributions to the 2023 yearbook are due 9 February 2024. Here are the instructions: http://leica-users.org/yearbook/submitting.html Here is a summary of what that page says: You can submit two images, and/or a doublewide panorama. Tell us who you are and where you live. You wouldn't believe how much time we have spent in past years trying to figure out where photographers live, when they don't tell us. We don't like code names or #handles. I'm not going to include an image unless I know the name and location of the photographer. Attach 2 images that have enough resolution. 3000x3000 is enough. You are also welcome to include a "full bleed" panoramic image, 5775 pixels wide and 1650 pixels high. This means that if you submit 2 regular images and 1 panorama you will have 3 photos in the yearbook, occupying 4 pages. Provide captions for each. We like it when you give technical details. We encourage you to provide 100 words or so of background, local color, or explanation. In past years, not enough people have done this. We really do want to know how you made the picture, where it was taken, and so on. Please don't be shy.
