Got out of Yosemite on Friday as they were closing it down due to the
anticipation of flooding.? While there was lots of water in the rivers,
we have been there when it has been higher. They are getting more
cautious as the year go by.

Here are a few shots of Bridalveil Falls.? The first set from Tunnel
View, the entrance to the valley floor on highway 41. If you get to the
overlook at about 4PM the sun is at the right angle to give you a
rainbow at the falls in the distance. If there is enough water and some
wind to make a lot of mist it can be quite a show.? It starts low and
you can see the reds in the mist.? As the angle of the sun gets lower
the reds climb up the falls followed by the rest of the colors of the
rainbow. ROYGBIV if you remember your junior high science.? This day
there was a fair amount of water but the winds were light, but if you
waited a gust could spread some mist before the water hits the bottom.

A few minutes later the colors are a little higher in this cropped shot
so you can see most of the spectrum now.

Here are a few from the base of the falls, or at least as close as you
can get now due to construction in the parking area.? The light was
pretty harsh and I was looking more directly at the sun.? Thought B&W
was a better choice for these.

Tighter zoom showing more of the base.

I will work on more over the next few days.

Comments welcome.
