The first image is part of my working class project. Taken at the grocery store turning into a destination: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Monday+Misc/work+crew+rolling+the+hose.jpg.html In more enlightened times Austin spent money on urban paths throughout the city with the work done to keep pedestrians away from automobiles: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Monday+Misc/into+the+light.jpg.html We took a trip north of Austin and stopped by Ft. Hood to see their museum. Unfortunately the museum was closed and moving out of the restricted space but we did happen on a memorial site. Ft. Hood is primarily a mobile infantry(heavy) base. This image is from the early days of the Iraq affair: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Monday+Misc/price+of+war.jpg.html Next to the memorial was a ring of armor. At one time Ft. Hood was the site for red/blue training with actual Soviet equipment. This is the wrong end to be at: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Monday+Misc/russian+125mm+rifled+from+a+T52.jpg.html A character shot of a pretty typical rural Texan: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Monday+Misc/retired+Texan.jpg.html A very popular personality on the KUTH radio station was closing out his house; the line was around the block to grab a momento from a well loved person: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Monday+Misc/waiting+to+see+the+home+of+a+KUTH+radio+personality.jpg.html All the best. -- Don don.dory at gmail.com
