I spent some time walking around my street and a short trip to the Lady Bird Wildflower Center which is a wonderful bit of lightly touched land in the middle of Austin Sprawl. The first image is of a lily pond with a few intruders: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Wednesday+Weeds/Iris+in+the+lily+pond.jpg.html One of the fields was sporting an excellent crop of bluebonnets: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Wednesday+Weeds/good+year+for+bluebonnets.jpg.html In a neighbor's yard I found this common plant: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Wednesday+Weeds/yellow+blossums+in+the+grass.jpg.html The mailperson had broken off this limb to make his way easier down the sidewalk: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Wednesday+Weeds/growing+where+unwanted.jpg.html A little dried out but still sending out little messengers of hope: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Wednesday+Weeds/seed+pods+on+hog+fence.jpg.html There is a patch of freelance iris that didn't bloom much this year but the foliage was lush: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Wednesday+Weeds/iris+abstract.jpg.html All the best. -- Don don.dory at gmail.com
