Shame about car and contents but they can be worked round. IMHO, if you had been driving it fine until your wife's knock, then it doesn't sound like the bent frame had much, if anything to do with the fire, so it is probably down to whatever the body shop did . Cue lawyers. Unfortunately. So glad you are safe.
