Greetings to all.  Still hiking in the mountains around Seattle.  This old
tree provides a meal for woodpeckers:

I'm not sure what killed these limbs:

I spent a large part of my childhood next to the Mississippi.  Reading
about the early shipping I couldn't understand the dangers.  Seeing this
log in the Cascades I understood what would happen to a steamboat if it hit
a log like this:
