It is kludged on one side due to a bent and broken shaft and stripped threads on the shaft and coarse focus knob, but this was not a beauty contest.? I had it back together 4 times.? Each time the focus worked when it was in pieces but then the fine focus would not work when it was assembled.? I took it apart again and played with it, then repeated the assembly and it did not work.? I finally got it to work this AM.? Not sure what I did, but I tested it at each stage of the assembly and it worked.? For how long I am not sure, but I am celebrating anyway. The good side: Nikon Scope Done-4238 (leica-users.org) <http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Aram/misc/sc/Nikon+Scope+Done-4238.jpg.html> The bad side: Nikon Scope Done-4240 (leica-users.org) <http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Aram/misc/sc/Nikon+Scope+Done-4240.jpg.html> The ugly focus knobs.? I can't put on the trim piece because the fine focus knob wobbles and would hit it.? I? also had to drill a series of holes in the knobs for new set screws to make it hold together. I will try not to look through the Zeiss scopes at the lab I will be working in this summer.
