I'm amazed to see cormorants over 150 miles from the sea. They're very 
common here near me, especially the Great Cormorant and to a lesser 
extent the smaller Shag, but that far away from a coast is extremely 
unusual. I'm about 400 metres from the sea here at home, but have never 
even a single one flying over us, let alone settling in a tree. Unusual 
indeed.
