They close the highway down so they can make the 6 mile trek.? About half way they give them a break in a campground where they can go to the river and get a drink and munch on some vegetation.? The weather this year was pretty warm (mid 40's) and dry and the lighting was very harsh, so did not get too many shots that I like.? You might notice how sweaty the horses are.?
