Douglas -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: IMG: First Class on British Rail Date: Thu, 26 Nov 2020 01:21:43 +0000 From: Douglas Barry <imra at iol.ie> To: lug at leica-users.org <lug at leica-users.org> My mother on her honeymoon in July 1948 about to board a Great Western train at Paddington Station en-route to Cornwall, England. She was 24 at the time. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DouglasBray/Mother+Paddington+Station+July+1948.jpg.html Taken with a Voigtlander Bessa by my father Louis Barry. Can be seen larger. I still have the camera. On a railway nerd issue, at this stage British Rail were just over six months old being the state vehicle that all of the old railway companies in Britain were merged into. However, the rolling stock had not been repainted, so it was still in the old colours of the particular constituent company relevant to the particular region.
