But what happened when Vanessa and Chris got the call to evacuate immediately - now - ? They packed whatever that were important to them, dumped a pack of frozen peas in the fish tank and hoped that the fish would make it, and left in a hurry, to escape from the raging fire. Two weeks later, after initially hearing that the area "is gone", they found a house covered in ashes and burnt leaves, and amazingly enough, fish that survived and an air filter doing its hardest to filter out the foul air once the power was restored. In front of their house, there's even a mostly eaten fowl carcass that was the meal for probably a coyote. It will be a long road to recovery.
