I pondered the question you are asking, and ended up going with one eye set at reading distance and the other at about 15 feet. I have worn glasses for 65 years and figured I could continue to put glasses on and take them off as needed. The eye knob on my Q2 has no problem adjusting to my reading-distance eye. That lets me see the screen or the controls if I prefer. Without glasses.
