Number one image today is the bottom half of a century plant after it has finished sending up its stamen. The plant dies back and this image is about half way down that decline: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Wednesday+Weeds/century+plant+after+climax.jpg.html These purple and yellow beauties are all around sidewalks and field next to paths this time of year: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Wednesday+Weeds/side+show+in+yellow.jpg.html This is a collection of vines growing on a limestone wall where a roadway was cut through a hill. There is really good afternoon light and many species take advantage of that: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Wednesday+Weeds/vines+competing+for+light.jpg.html We will end this weeks weeds with an image of my immigrant sunflower. I acquired a new lens and wanted to use it so here we are: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Wednesday+Weeds/Sunflower+as+bird+seed.jpg.html All the best. -- Don don.dory at gmail.com -- Don don.dory at gmail.com
