In 1968, I was assigned to get a photo for the student newspaper of a
performance in the small, studio theater at the university. I got there
after it had started, so I slipped in the door at the back to discover the
play was lit with dim fixtures, the walls and set were painted black, with
black plastic drapes,
and all the costumes consisted of dark cloth and more black plastic. I
took two frames at f/1.4 and 1/30 sec and hoped I'd gotten something.
One did run in the next issue.
