As with the other big cities of this part of Europe, it is fascinating blend of new and old, with evidence of a sometimes painful history but also the huge and positive changes since the liberation from communism in 1989. I was here to speak at a conference but fortunately it ended around lunchtime yesterday, so I had most of the afternoon and the entire evening to myself. I walked many km and saw many beautiful and interesting things which will form a gallery in due course, but in the meantime here are three people pictures from yesterday?s walk. Faces, on one of the many squares of Bratislava: https://www.greatpix.eu/All/Picture-A-Day/i-LNkR2Fb/A A smoke break, off Michalsk? street: https://www.greatpix.eu/All/Picture-A-Day/i-RMTj8JF/A Customers, Scottish pub on Michalsk? street. These guys really impressed me; I had popped in for the last pint of the evening (a wonderful black Slovak beer) and a light dinner, and ran into these guys?about 6 hours after having seen them in an outdoor caf?, downing pints already then. I admire their stamina: https://www.greatpix.eu/All/Picture-A-Day/i-ZjPM5bX/A Cheers, Nathan (now heading back to Vienna and flights to Madrid and Alicante) Nathan Wajsman Alicante, Spain http://www.frozenlight.eu <http://www.frozenlight.eu/> http:// <http://www.greatpix.eu/>www.greatpix.eu PICTURE OF THE WEEK: http://www.fotocycle.dk/paws <http://www.fotocycle.dk/paws>Blog: http://nathansmusings.wordpress.com/ <http://nathansmusings.wordpress.com/> Cycling: http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/belgiangator <http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/belgiangator> YNWA
