I remember the landing as if it were last year (a bit faded than saying yesterday). While In DC I also saw the Enterprise shuttle and was amazed. But it was seeing the battle worn Endeavor in Los Angeles a few years later that really got to me. The Enterprise is so pristine, and the Endeavor shows the scars of a workhorse with an amazing story to tell. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Aram/w3/l/LA+trip-7627.jpg.html http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Aram/w3/l/LA+trip-7641.jpg.html http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Aram/w3/l/LA+trip-7639.jpg.html Aram -----Original Message----- From: Peter Klein Sent: Monday, September 02, 2019 6:11 PM To: lug ; olympus at thomasclausen.net ; leicareflex at freelists.org Subject: [Leica] Apollo 11 Command Module <https://www.flickr.com/photos/24844563 at N04/48668635076/in/dateposted-public/> Today was the last day this amazing, beautiful little spacecraft was in Seattle, on loan from the Smithsonian. I went to visit. I got very emotional, remembering that historic week of 50 years ago. My better half didn't go, so I was forced to rely on the kindness of a fellow visitor to get a shot of myself. I set the camera, he followed directions, and he did well. More to come anon. Olympus E-M5 and Panasonic 14/2.5. Enjoy! --Peter
