I put them in my luggage for the belly of the plane. ?TSA routinely opens the bag to look, but so far, they have not removed them.?If I did not check luggage, I would suggest a cheap monopod... at least if they take it, you are not out too much $$$. ?Separate the head, just in case.... ?I have a (Carbon Fiber ? ?Plastic?)?Manfrotto that folds up small and is quite robust. ?Cost about $25. There are also walking sticks..... look like short?ski poles... some of which have tripod screws on top. ?They would probably not do much questioning of this solution. ?( I seem to remember that you have hip/knee replacements, so this solution may actually be more easy to swing). Can you really buy a monopod in Bangladesh? I didn't carry one to Norway and bought a cheap one there because I assumed it would not be allowed in carry-on and we didn't check any luggage. Now I'm planning my trip to Bangladesh and I would love to carry my Gitzo monopod.? This site says it's fine, but it's several years old: https://flyingwithfish.boardingarea.com/2012/10/03/ are-tripods-monopods-ok-for-airline-carry-on-yes/ Any recent experience?? I don't want my Gitzo taken away at security!! Tina -- Tina Manley
