Yes there is a pattern to it. At normal viewing distances that probably
will not show. I think at least the original Genuine Fractals showed a
pattern also.
New experiments appear to indicate that it works better with color than
black and white images; more info to work with probably. So, as a B&W guy,
I'll up-res before conversion if I need more pixels.
Comparing the results to the PS Auto resizing, in some areas, like where AI
Gig turned the detail to mush, the PS system wins. Usually AI Gig is going
to be better, but where mistakes happen, filling in with the PS alternative
looks like a feasible way to cure the problem.
