Typically used in Laptop computers or in higher end Desktops, they offer advantages in access speed and reliability ( bumps make no difference). Prices on 500GB to 2TB have halved or less. ( smaller SSD are available, but seem too small to be of practical use). If you are thinking of upgrading your current HDD, and the size of drive you may be interested in is in the range noted, it is an excellent time to move to SSD drives.
