I secured one of these, and first tried, mostly unsuccessfully, to use the combination hand-held.? Then, after trying it on a tripod, I mounted the lens on a 55mm f/1.8 Takumar to reduce weight and set it up outdoors, inviting the insects to come to me.? With a lens to subject distance of 7 to 16 inches and focusing on the rear screen using an old black cloth from the 1940s, I finally got a few decent shots.? Here is an example: http://www.gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/20180720-DSCF8386-a.jpg.html Next, I might try my? monopod.? Who knows what might result.
