I arrived at my hotel around 5 p.m. in the afternoon and had a dinner to go to at 7:30, so I had about 1 1/2 hour of free time yesterday afternoon. I used that time to take the metro to Place Saint-Michel and walk around a bit in the area (and of course to have a beer in one of the bars there). Two vignettes: One of the classic view of Paris: http://www.greatpix.eu/All/Picture-A-Day/i-FjpdDkh/A Another sadly common view, a homeless man. He had a beautiful cat rather than the more usual dog, and it certainly drew attention (and money, also from me): http://www.greatpix.eu/All/Picture-A-Day/i-r5kMzn5/A Both images were taken at dusk, so the light is a bit flat, but that is how it was.
