I spoke to a staff member at the repair department last week. According to Leica NJ they will install a new CCD and circuit boards. They state that this is done locally, the body is not sent to Germany. A la crate leather options are not available in the USA, the cameara would have to be sent to Germany, presumably at the owner's expense. I was told the wait time would be 15+ weeks due to backlog. Owners have 60 days from the date that the camera arrives at the repair center to excercise their M240/SL upgrade option.
