I first tried a closeup AF lens, but didn't like the results. I then pulled out my Pentax 135 MF lens and got results that I could enlarge. While colors are unreliable in the sun, and the objects are small, the shapes and sizes convince me that these are, indeed, fire ants. There is a U-Tube video online that shows what happens when one sticks a shovel into a fire ant mound. These behave exactly the same to much smaller intrusions. http://www.gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/Ants+on+a+Leaf.jpg.html I appreciate all comments. -- Jim Nichols Tullahoma, TN USA -- _________________________________________________________________ Options: http://lists.thomasclausen.net/mailman/listinfo/olympus Archives: http://lists.thomasclausen.net/mailman/private/olympus/ Themed Olympus Photo Exhibition: http://www.tope.nl/
