A7 is 125 grams ( about 4 ounces) lighter than the A7Mk2 A7 = same as A7R and A7S A7Mk2 = same as A7RMk2 and A7SMk2 (but the Mk2 is 1 ounce heavier) Really, not a big difference...... A7 = A7Mk2 = 24MP A7R = 36MP A7RMk2 = 42MP The Mk2 versions offer IBIS... and the Techart AF adapters operate with the Mk2 versions only. Doug Herr has (if he did not sell it) a A7Mk2. Frank Filippone Red735i at verizon.net \ It's LTM as I fitted it to my lllc, but never actually got around to shooting anything with it as I tend to use 35mm or 50mm for the type of street shooting I do. It looks ok, and, as I'm going buy a Sony A7 next week, I'll try it on that when I get the Leica adapter which will be a M adapter. I already have a LTM (L39) to M adapter, so I presume that lens to M adapter to Sony E mount adapter should be ok? The reason I'm going for the A7 Mark 1 is it's lighter and more toteable than the Mark 2 and the S and R versions, doesn't produce the massive files, and the clincher is I can buy it heavily discounted apparently. Any other basic Sony A7 users out there who might have answers to possible unanticipated problems I might have? Sonny Carter & Doug Herr do use A7s but I don't think they're the basic A7?? Douglas
