The former was once described to me as a Midlands industrial city surrounding a mediaeval university, while the latter: a mediaeval university in the middle of East Anglian agricultural fenland. It was many years ago! As to continuing to visit these hallowed shores, it will be a pleasure and an honour to sponsor your UK visa application, for as long as the UK survives. Yesterday morning I woke up early and went for a walk around town. It was raining lightly but things improved. Six images from that walk: The square where Pembroke College is located, at the start of my walk: http://www.greatpix.eu/All/Picture-A-Day/i-Lp29CJW/A A nearby street, a little later; by now the rain had stopped: http://www.greatpix.eu/All/Picture-A-Day/i-PFd8c9h/A Pembroke College, residence halls, where I have been staying the past two nights: http://www.greatpix.eu/All/Picture-A-Day/i-xQGJnx6/A Construction fence with a sense of history: http://www.greatpix.eu/All/Picture-A-Day/i-QzW5xdq/A More recent history and a testament to the trans-Atlantic ties, right next to where I am staying at Pembroke College: http://www.greatpix.eu/All/Picture-A-Day/i-Dnj6SKP/A And finally, in a corner of the inner courtyard, a reminder that this privileged corner of England was also touched by World War II: http://www.greatpix.eu/All/Picture-A-Day/i-fctrhLg/A I love England (and Wales, and Scotland), and it is a bittersweet feeling for me to visit for the first time since June?s disastrous vote. But regardless, I will keep coming back.
