It used to be a village of 400 Zoroastrian families but only 30 people are left now. We met Rashid Kanjani walking back to his house from his greenhouse and he offered to show us around. He has $30,000 invested in his greenhouse to grow cucumbers and tomatoes. He says he could have made more money if he had just put that in the bank and let it accumulate interest but he loves to farm and can't quit. http://tinamanley.photoshelter.com/gallery-image/Iran/G0000YmlbTddL96g/I00001DHPit_gjjE to the end (828). We spent the rest of the afternoon with Rashid and his wife. They are typical of families in this village in that their children grew up and left. Their son is a veterinarian in Yazd and their daughter married her first cousin and moved to India. They invited us to come to a worship service at the Zoroastrian temple in Yazd the next week. That will be coming up soon along with photos of Shenahanou, his wife. C&C greatly appreciated.
