But today was a day off, and I rented a car and drove north along the western shore of Loch Lomond and then up to Oban, before returning to Glasgow, a trip of around 200 miles amid some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. And I do not say such things lightly. I travel a lot and have seen many beautiful places, but Scotland is really something else. After today, I understand much better the pride and love for their country that I sense in my Scottish colleagues back in Alicante.
