Found some down by the Carson River where highways 89 and 88 intersect (first two images) and then went west up Carson Pass Road to the trailhead of the section of the Pacific Rim Trail that goes to Frog Lake and Lake Winnemuca. Unfortunately my back went out about 1/3mi up the trail to Frog Lake and the remainder of the images were hand held... I didn't make it past Frog Lake (about 8,300' elevation 1mi from the start). Apparently and unfortunately the real outburst of flowers was up at Lake Winnemuca, about another 1-1/2 mile away. But my back would have none of that. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it! So here are the results... http://www.robertadlerphotography.com/p391288099/h4f3c7a31#h4f3c7a31 Click an image to make it fill your screen and then click left or right. Only 5 made the cut.
