Hi Luggers,
Kinefoto on Stanley Street, Central, has closed after many, many years at
the same address. The owner, Mr. Yuen, is retired in the US and the family
decided it wasn?t worth going on as business has been going down hill. Also
the Leica Flagship Store, 3rd Floor Star House in Tsim Sha Tsui, is in the
process of closing. Apparently the crackdown on illegal activity in China
has had an impact on buying Leicas as gifts for Chinese officials. Denny
Cheung at Shogun confirms that is his experience as well.
Yet, the used market in Leica equipment seems to be booming and prices
remain firm. Better prices in New York as I comparison shop.
Interesting times in Hong Kong for Leica users.
Howard
