I was there for the Mariel boatlift in 1980. It is a beautiful place.  I
would love to go again without some of the restrictions I had at the time.
I was somewhat more free to move about than many, but for much of the
time.

Read about it, if you have the time in Joe Doss' book "Let the Bastards
Go"  (Castro's quote) available at Amazon.  That's me next to the
wheelhouse door on the dust jacket.  ;-)

?I went there, working on a documentary film on the boatlift that never
?was finished (all explained in the book.)
