The first installment is from my favourite place, photographically, of the whole trip, The Temple of Heaven, and the vast park that surrounds it, in Beijing. The whole place was delightful, and I was most frustrated that we were allowed just an hour here - the downsides of a tour! If I ever go back to Beijing, I will plan for 2-3 mornings here, just for photography, and the pleasure of just walking around, watching people (as I will also plan more time for the market in Xi'an and the Bund in Shanghai).
