We start with Rome, where I was on July 7 and 8. I arrived at lunchtime on the 7th and had the rest of that day free. I have no idea how many km I walked, but it was enough to give me blisters even though I was wearing an old and very comfortable pair of shoes. Never mind, it was worth it. As opposed to previous trips to Rome, I was on my own and under no obligation to see the "must see" sights. So I stayed well clear of the Vatican, the Coliseum, the Forum and so on. Since my hotel was 100 metres from the Trevi Fountain, I could not quite avoid that one, and I also passed a couple of places which are popular with tourists, like Campo de Fiori and Piazza Navona. But still, this was by far my most enjoyable walk in Rome, ever, and I hope that I captured at least some of it in these images: http://www.frozenlight.eu/rome_july2014/ As always, comments and critique are welcome and appreciated.
