Dumb because I should know the answer, but I don't. Here it is:

If the various filters (Bayer etc...) break down incoming light into eg
GRGB values and each value is recorded ...

Does that mean that an 18mp sensor has 18mp x 4 four sensing points each =
72m sensels or the opposite 18m / 4 sensels to produce a single pixel =
4.5m points of color?
