The hut is craned in at the start of the summer and craned out at the end of it. Bray used to be a relatively safe beach, but the coastal reinforcements a few years ago have made it trickier sometimes when the wind changes. I used to swim all year round, but had a nasty experience in November '12 despite being a former triathlete and thus what might be called a strong swimmer. So now if the wind does its rare enough trick and blows from the north-east, swim in front of the lifeguards' hut: comely maidens will rush to your rescue if things go wrong. Fuji X100S.
