MY experience ( and YMMV) shows that focusing with these lenses requires me to find the "sweet spot" of the area of the bifocal that works for me at that moment in time and at that elevation and cocking my head to see my scene.......... sometimes things are nice and sharp and easy to see through the VF, and other times, it just does not happen. You learn to move your head relative to the eyepiece.... so that you can see through the VF with some degree of clarity. Not ideal, but the best I have been able to have happen. I also have a +1 diopter that I need to try out... this could mean that each time I use the VF, I would need to remove the glasses.. a real PITA.... But sometimes it is the better solution......
