I agree.

It really doesn't make much difference if the "assignment" is:

The Colour White
or
The Flower

The trip is to up one's photographic game.
Discover a unique "take" or point of view.
Find something to say about "white" or about "flower."

Obviously if we're doing
"same old" white
or
"same old" flower
or
"same old" bird, bug, building, bolder, bread, band, back street, 
over and over and over
well? that's just sad
whatever the assignment
