Thank you all for the feedback.

Still early days for me using the Canon 6D and Leica R lenses to make any 
conclusion on my own. 

However noting that 'dying' DMRs and less than optimum viewing through the 
Canon are the issues that plague both these combinations, it is even more 
obvious that the M240 is the only way to go. 

On the other hand I could still use my R8s and Epson V700 scanner which 
should not be too shabby either. 
Ah, any advice on this route?
