The M can use liveview on the built in screen or an accessory viewfinder slips onto the hotshoe and connects via a plug in the back of the camera. It can still work as a rangefinder though! john ________________________________________ Does the M require an accessory EVF? My last Leica was an M3, and it was pretty simple. Line up the split rangefinder and click. Do the M8/M9/M have electronic instead of the old optical rangefinders? As you might well guess, I am out of touch with the digital world except for DSLR's. Also watch out for spiders, as your odds don't look that great. I have my lenses, I have the RRS base plate for my tripod work, I have a new Softie from Tom A for the shutter release and I have the Olympus EVF but the camera I have not. An Australian is also statistically more likely to have died from Funnel Web Spider poison in Australia than have received an M typ 240...or a dead cat in a box. *Breathe in, breathe out, move on* -- Jimmy Buffett Cheers Geoff http://www.pbase.com/hoppyman On 28 May 2013 02:58, Henning Wulff <henningw at archiphoto.com> wrote: > Actually, according to Schr?dinger or rather quantum physics, it will > contain a camera AND it won't contain a camera.
