Subject: [Leica] 250mm f/4 Telyt

How is the quality of this optic? Good, I'm sure but is it worth losing the 
convenience of metering wide open on a Nikon body?
I see these relatively inexpensive at various places and they are also 
smaller than the 300mm f/4 Nikkor, almost the same size as the 180mm Nikkor 
but a bit longer.
Your opinions are always appreciated!
