Subject: [Leica] Terrific Robert Frank Interview (with subtitles)

Great interview. For all the RF, Beat Generation lovers (myself included).
Points of interest:

1. He doesn't like the "original," French/European version of The
Americans. He didn't want and doesn't like text opposite each picture. He
calls it "stupid."
2. His American publisher wanted text, too. The Kerouac intro "didn't
help," but he had to live with it to get it published.
3. Calling the book "The Americans" was a sad, unjust comment on the US at
the time. Not clear whose idea the title was. Those of us living in the
city regarded Kerouac/Ginsberg/Frank as a holy trinity.
4. Re NYC, "What a town."

It's like hearing God grumble about creation. He was so busy, it had to be
outsourced so it didn't turn out the way he might have wished.
