Dear Mark,

I bid on ebay all the time. Living in the East and trying to find 
"affordable" and well maintained Leica items isn't exactly easy. 
However I do find your remarks timely. While I do my fair bit of actual 
shooting, I may have been overly concerned about getting equipment just 
because it's available on ebay. Doesn't help that prices are always climbing 
upwards. Noticed that even used Leica lenses are going up around 
10percentage points annually since I first did my first ebay transaction 3 
years ago.
BTW, I don't intend to buy that gold plated R3.
