there are also smartphone apps that immediately live-stream photos and
videos to different websites so even if the police deliberately wipe your
phone, you won't lose the footage.

Whew!  Governments believe watching is their sole province.  They don't
like it when citizens spy on them.  This should get really interesting with
Looxcie which is not a recorder, but a transmitter.  Cops who bust people
for watching them will have a widely dispersed realtime audience and will
have to think twice about routinely throwing their weught around.
