When I saw the bus approaching, I prefocused (through my car windshield) on a crack in the pavement that I hoped was about the same distance as the vehicle would be, then panned as it passed at about 30 mph. This with a manual focus lens at f/1.4 (my Olympus Zuiko 50mm f/1.4). <http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Alan+Magayne-Roshak/Miscellaneous/NightBus_AMR.jpg.html> Alan Alan Magayne-Roshak, Senior Photographer UPAA POY 1978 University Relations University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Alan+Magayne-Roshak/ "All the technique in the world doesn't compensate for an inability to notice.
