Doh.
Always make sure you proofread the entered serial number.
Didn't even think of it as a problem because it accepted it - hopefully 
the person who had that number didn't try to register it in the last 
couple of days...
Got it all sorted & downloaded now - thanks to all who replied with ideas!

Owners site. I go into the software download page, and the serial number 
shown by the system is correct. When I enter the "TAN" number found on 
the paperwork included with the camera, it comes back as "Not a valid 
number" Anyone know if there is a back-end delay on the registration - 
perhaps someone at Leica has to do something during their business 
hours? --
