The acorns grow on the tips of new branches, which will not support the weight of a squirrel. He crawls out as far as possible, then bites off the tip of the branch, after which he goes to the ground and recovers his trophy. In the case of this branch, he left one acorn behind. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/PA153758+edit.jpg.html There are not many flowers left in the yard in mid-October. This honey bee crawled all over this honeysuckle cluster while I watched for openings to get a shot. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/PA153775+edit.jpg.html Oly E-510 and ZD 35mm Macro Comments and critiques welcomed.
