These have six columns for slides and four removable dividers for each column, providing up to 30 compartments for storing 35 mm slides. There are probably enough dividers to fill out at least the first half of the boxes that I have. There is also a Xerox copy of the original blank sheet for marking what's where. Most of these are in very clean condition and have served well for storage for some 35 years (many of them). The newest were bought in the early 1990s, the oldest go back to the mid 1960s. The oldest ones have some markings on them. I have a few with single latch and plastic inserts (newest) and plastic handle, while the bulk have dual latches and a metal bail handle. Colours are assorted. If you want any of these, I do need to ask for you to cover shipping (from Aurora, Ontario, Canada). Right now, I suspect I have about 12-15 boxes available, with another 12 or so of the single-latch with assorted inserts (single slide or group) becoming available sometime... Each of the larger group boxes seem to hold 600+ cardboard mount slides. The single-slide boxes (future availability) hold 150 in individual slots, but three cardboard mount slides fit in a single slot. This marks my winding up "The Big Scan" where I have (to date) digitized over 41,000 slides and about 9,000 negatives and prints. I guess I have about 3,000 slides to go in my collection. I suspect I have inherited 6,000-7,000 from my father and my stepmother's family, but most of those will not get scanned as no one is interested in them...and my sons and I are toast. Here is the longer story http://richardhess.com/notes/** 2011/11/05/personal-image-**scanning-project/<http://richardhess.com/notes/2011/11/05/personal-image-scanning-project/> The updated totals are 50,000 images, 62,000 scans, 69,000 unique files created, total files created about 119,000 as the images were scanned to TIF, but an access JPEG was created.
