This morning, despite the jetlag, I went cycling with him in the hills above Oakland and Berkeley. The road was not as good as the ones I have around Alicante, more bumpy and with some potholes that make the descending somewhat perilous--but oh, the views! The bay, with the two bridges, just awesome. So our speed over the modest 25 km ride (but with a fair amount of climbing) was slower than normal because of the need to stop and take pictures. On one occasion we even saw a younger version of Ansel Adams: http://www.greatpix.eu/All/Picture-A-Day/4253606_kdsZ6C#!i=2051952425&k=wKVXpvW&lb=1&s=O And the views were like this: http://www.greatpix.eu/All/Picture-A-Day/4253606_kdsZ6C#!i=2051952473&k=PtXSQsR&lb=1&s=O Later in the day, we had lunch in Japantown and a long walk around Haight-Ashbury. A good first day in California.
