The SSD act as HDD space, but faster. If the problem with slowness is due to
small RAM and the computer spinning off data to the HDD as a temporary
storage area, this solution is valid.... Especially if all your RAM is
already filled to the maximum the CPU board can handle.  This varies
dependent on the specific design of your board.  Check with your computer
maker for the max that your particular computer can handle.  

My last computer had a max of 750MB.  (My new Dell can handle either 16 or
32 GB, I get conflicting info on which.) 

BUT>.......a faster and better overall more efficient for all your programs
would be......

More Memory ( RAM).  RAM is used to process and store data for the
processor.

Put in more RAM first.  At least that is what I would do.....

Note: 8GB of RAM ( 2 sticks of 4GB each) is now about $50 or less. Pop out
the old ones, drop in the new ones.  Easy, cheap and 

Of course, you MAC guys have your own price points.

Somewhat on topic, has anyone tried an SSD drive as a scratch drive for CS
to improve performance?
